Life Lists

I read this on a blog and liked the idea. It reminds me of the popular Bullet Journal system. And I'm all about lists and journals and lists. Ha! So, I thought it would be fun to do my own.

The Weather:
  • Hot as a blazing inferno, today. 93 degrees at 6:45 pm!
Reading:
  • Still reading 'Go Set A Watchman' by Harper Lee.
  • John Grisham's 'Rogue Lawyer' waiting in the wings. Yippee!
TV:
  • Not watching much, these days. But, I do like those Alaska shows.
Food:
  • Cucumbers, fresh ones from the garden!
  • Hoppin' John Salad left over from our family reunion, yesterday.
This week's to do:
  • Shop for patio side tables.
Garden:
  • Picking cucumbers, cilantro, squash and zucchini.
Creating:
  • Consolidating all of my old calendars into a life journal. I've saved calendars since the early 80's.
  • Quilt block for the garden
Around the house:
  • Need to hang pictures at the lake.
From the camera:

What's on your life list?

Laurie

  4. My favorite parts on your list are the food, garden, and books! I have Go Set a Watchman which someone loaned me but I haven't read it.

    1. Thanks, Lisa! Go Set A Watchman is a slow read for me. Honestly, I'm just not in to it. But, I always have to finish the book...no matter what. Maybe the last third will be better.

  5. Oh my, your garden matures and produces yummy food so fast. Must have something to do with those oven-type temperatures you have!

We had a heavy rain last night and woke to a temp of 46 degrees this morning. I'll bet that sounds downright winter-ish to you!

    Have a wonderful week!

    1. Lol! Oven-like is an understatement. I guess those veggies are loving it, though. I should have okra in a couple of weeks. 46 is definitely winter here. HaHa!

  6. Love the post. Gives us a glimpse of your daily life. We are only getting herbs, asparagus, rhubarb and strawberries from our garden as of yet, but it is early days here! Great photo of Queen Anne's Lace!

  7. We watched Everest the other night and I was surprised how much I like it.

Today's list includes finishing photos for a blog post, hemming a pair of pants (short people problems) and walking to the estuary in search of a large piece of driftwood for a sign.

    Have a great day!

  9. Hello Laurie, just wanted to answer your question about the surname Haselden, which is not very common here.
We are heading for east Coast USA, a road trip for sorts which is very exciting for us!

  10. Nice list. I was busy today, while Tom played golf. I had to run all over town letting the newspaper, museum, ticket office, etc, etc. know that we have cancelled this years Victorian Tea. Four of our six hostesses and two of their spouses are having major health problems. Also trying to pull together decorations for a party for 100.. And figure out what four appetizers I will make. Sent get well cards and bought a birthday gift for my sister in addition to washing clothes and watering our pitiful little garden.....Janey

  11. Wondering why your life journal is different than a regular journal? Beautiful white flower. Humid here today too. I did get around the fountain weeded and gave some blackberry starters to a neighbor. I am old fashioned so of course today was laundry day! LOL Nancy

    1. Hey, Nancy. I don't imagine a life journal is much different than a regular journal, it's just what I choose to call it. I have a garden journal and my day planner, which I use to some extent to journal day to day activities. So, getting all those calendar entries from our lives since the early 80's into a journal is to me, plain and simple, life journaling. Have a great week!

  12. Oh, 93 is hot! We had that temp last weekend and today it was only 51! Crazy! You'll have to tell us if you liked the books. Eating fresh cucumbers and squash sounds wonderful. Your life journal project sounds great! I have saved calendars, too. I hope you share how you make it. A pretty, lacy flower - Queen Anne's lace, I'm guessing. Thank you for your sweet visits, Laurie. So touching how you made the quilts out of your Father's shirts. Hope you have a nice week and some cooler weather :) xx Karen

    1. Thank you, Karen! I may have to do a post on my calendar and journals, sometime. It's really not much to it, though. I'm just transferring the important parts to a journal in chronological order. I add a few little decorations here and there. Yes, that is Queen Anne's Lace. They are blooming all along the roadsides here. So dainty and airy, I think. We're having a cookout Saturday and thankfully, we are expecting the temps to be in the low 80's. You can't imagine how grateful I am that it will be a little cooler. Hope your week is great, too!

  15. Great list Laurie...so nice to be busy,eh?
Heading back to the cottage Thursday morning...
Had Miss V today...kinda rough, as she had hurt her finger at daycare before I picked her up...
She was VERY upset...we did our best to console her...
By the end of the day, she was her cheery old self...♥️
Have a great weekend...lake or beach for you?
    Cheers!

    1. Yes! We've been very busy. So much to do outside and hanging pictures inside. Trying to wrap up things that never got done after the move. The weather has been oppressive this week, so it makes working outside almost impossible. We're back at the lake.

Hope you have a great weekend.

  16. Fun Post Laurie. My life list today and every day is rather short. For the first 9 hours of the day I'm working. Once I get home, my life begins. This afternoon I will go for a walk, relax on the patio before the sun goes down even though its 93 degrees today. I pland to finish some recycled tshirt yarn, then snuggle on the couch with the hubby til bed time.

    1. Well, work is necessary. But, it sounds like you make the most of your day, afterwards. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for the weekend....just so that it will be about 10 degrees cooler. I wilt in the heat! Ack!!
