As promised, I'm sharing some of the photos from a kayaking trip my husband and I took a while ago. The setting....Murrells Inlet, SC. We left at low tide from Oyster Landing near Huntington Beach State Park and headed to the jetties where the creek empties at the inlet into the sea. To me, nothing is more calming and peaceful than kayaking. You are so up close and personal with nature that it's almost spiritual. Maybe that's what Jacques Cousteau felt when he said "The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever". Please enjoy.
You can see the exposed sandbar at low tide near the jetties.
This view is looking back towards Murrells Inlet.
In the foreground you see the rocks that form the jetty.
This is the opening of the creek into the ocean.

towards Huntington Beach State Park.
The jetties (on one side) has an asphalt top allowing you to walk to the end.
The ocean is rough at times and splashes angrily into the jetties making great splashes.
And here is the end.
Notice the buoy marking the entrance through the inlet into the creek.
Leaving for home. As you will notice, the tide had started to rise. The sandbar is nearly covered. Riding the tide in makes for an easy paddle.
I sure hope you all get to experience kayaking at least once. I love it! As the weather warms, I'm sure we will have more and more paddling adventures to share. And as promised, check back Sunday for all new and fresh pictures in Seaside Sunday.
