I Thought Today Would Be The Day

We have been without cable and Internet for over a week.
We've been calling Time Warner everyday only to be told via automated messaging that there was line maintenance being done.
That was finished and still no service, so they sent out a technician to locate the problem.
It seems that our line was possibly hit by lightening.
I thought today would be the day that I could get back online, but no.
The cable company has to send another crew to replace and bury another line.
That means this short little post is all you're gonna get until the cable is fixed.

Boo!

Bummer!

Well, I'm so sorry, but I just can't post from my iPhone like I want to.
It's crazy trying to post pictures from it.

Hope everyone is having a good week. I'll be back soon!

    1. I am getting all sorts of things done, haha! Just finished hanging some curtains at the beach house. But really, it hasn't been bad. I've also been catching up on my reading list.

  2. Oh no! Its weird how we do not realize how much we rely on things until they are gone. I have blogged from my phone before from the "Blogger" app. Its not the easiest thing but sometimes can find words better by sitting back with my iphone and start typing away as if im sending a text. I have to later go on my computer to proof it and get the photos right. Hurry back!

  3. I often have problems with my internet at home....and I have Verizon. They are WAY worse than Time Warner, who I had in the past. Like you, I can't post from my phone or iPad....it's just too weird!

    1. I don't know what it is about blogger, but sometimes I'll type a post in a word document and then copy & paste to blogger and the format goes all wonky. And posting pictures from my phone....forget about it. You would think that in today's techno savvy world, blogger would follow suit. Oh well!

  4. It makes us realize how much we depend on our technologies doesn't it?

    Guilty!

    Power..internet.
    I love it all.

Hope you get it back soon!

    1. Thanks, Monique. Yes, I want it all, too. I could almost do without t.v., but I really want my internet.

    1. Ha! I'm half crazy anyway! But, yes, it sure is a pain. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to turn on the tv. I have been getting a lot of stuff done....hanging curtains (had to hem them first), I've read my John Grisham book, finished putting up my peaches, made two peach cobblers and put the rest in the freezer. :)

  8. Laurie, No matter how long you are without cable or internet, they will never knock anything off your bill...We stand by our signing of a contract with Dish, they have taken off fox and cbs...yet we pay the same. To me they have broken the contract...so where's our discount. LOL. I am wishing you the best and a return to normal. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. My husband has requested that and so far they say they will credit us. We'll see. It can be so aggravating at times.

  9. We are "hooked into" so many things these days that we have absolutely no control over. Which is not a good thing in my book. Yet, do we want to live without all these technological advances? Nope. I think it would be really hard to function in the world today without being hooked up. :o(

    1. I agree. I can almost do without tv. Almost. But I don't think I want to be without Internet. You can do so much with it. But, the cell phone? Now that's a sad state of something. All you see anymore are people glued to it. It's just about done completely away with any type of personal/social skills. We saw a family of 4 playing miniature golf the other day and all 4 were like zombies walking around the golf course with their nose in the phone. Just sad. And what's even worse are the people who text and drive. I had someone cross the yellow line into my lane the other day...texting and not looking where they were going. Plain stupid, sad and scary! Okay, enough about technology. Hope you have a great week!! It's pouring rain here and I'm thrilled!

  12. Oh that's so frustrating. I hope it is fixed soon. I usually post in town at the library - my connection at the house is too slow through my phone!

  14. The world has changed so much that nowadays it feels really strange to not have access to internet and TV. Hopefully you still managed to enjoy the "peace" somehow.

    1. It sure has. I can remember the days before personal computers and now, I can hardly do without it. Everything is back on now. Yipee!

  15. Grab this opportunity and enjoy the "real" life. Sometimes we seem to be glued way too much to the computer - at least I feel some days I spend way too much time here.

  16. This reminded me of the TV commercial where the kiddo is hugging her laptop saying: "I love you, I love you, please come back on, please come back on"....yep, it's a bummer to lose all that for a week! I do so much on line, like bill pay etc that I too would be pretty bummed out! Hope all is good now!

    1. That is too funny! But, that is how we feel sometimes. It makes you feel almost lost, especially when you pay bills online, shop online, etc. Yes, all is good now. I'm back online.
