We had snow at the lake. See....I can prove it.
There was snow on the water globe left in the zinnia patch.
There was snow in the crook of the crepe myrtle.
Lidia, Ana (Lidia's friend) and Sawyer were raking it off my car into snowballs.
And suddenly, between the sun and the snowball throwing, it was gone.
Notice the toboggan that Sawyer is wearing? I finished it! Fits him like a glove.
I have to make Cliff one, now. He needs a camouflaged one for the swamp.
If you got snow, hope you enjoyed it. I was in heaven watching the little bit we got this morning. Hope our friends up north and on the east coast stay safe and warm.
Send me some.
Laurie
Yes, you got barely kissed with some snow! haha.
ReplyDeleteI actually had to Google the toboggan! We only use that
word for sleds, and very rarely at that! Who knew!
We call those beanies. It's very cute on him....I'd
love to be able to do that!
Kissed, yes! We can't catch a break! LOL!! We rarely call the hats, beanies. I didn't want him to get a complex, in case he thought it sounded babyish. It does fit him well, doesn't it? I saw some kind of round plastic thing in Hobby Lobby today that you can use to make them. That might be easier on your hands.
DeleteWe call them toques!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed the snow while it lasted!
Enjoy your evening....
Get busy on one for Cliff!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
I've never heard that term, except from you, Linda. Is that a Canadian term? I did enjoy the snow.....I watched it falling and was wishing we would get 2 feet. LOL!! I'm going to start on Cliff's soon. Bought the yarn today....he approved. Ha!
DeleteI guess...at least a Northern US term I would think!
DeleteI had never heard it called a toboggan!
Have a great day!
beautiful pics as usual. No a flake here in upstate NY.
ReplyDeleteThanks Darlene! I'm shocked that you didn't get any of that snow. I just assumed the whole North East got socked with it.
DeleteNot fair that you got even a dusting, Laurie, when we up here in MN near the Canadian border have been having a relatively snowless winter!
ReplyDeleteI had never heard winter hats called toboggans either! Yes, I think toque might be a French-Canadian term as we hear that up here, too . . . along with my relatives in the lower states telling us we have a French-Canadian accent in our speech since we've lived up here! Eh?
Judy, Judy, Judy...
DeleteLol! You crack me up! Eh?
That dusting was just enough to make me mad! Lol!!
You got more snow than we ever get here. That is the only thing I truly miss in winter. However, this winter we got our "snow fix" during winter break when we went to Colorado and Wyoming. The snow was okay, but the coldness (-13F) not so much!
ReplyDeleteYou just need that snow fix sometimes, don't you. I crave it. Lol! We were in Keystone at Christmas. Snow was everywhere. I loved it. I didn't even mind the cold weather. I think the lowest we got there was (-5F).
DeleteI didn't know what a toboggan was either... Glad to learn something! Not much snow here either and I'm grateful!
ReplyDeleteHi Anita, isn't it fun to learn what people call them in different areas of the country? I had not heard of toques. As far as the snow goes, I say...bring it on. :)
DeleteThat's about the only amount of snow I would want to see. I can remember getting flurries in Louisiana. So exciting as a kid. You would have thought gold flakes were falling from the sky. :)
ReplyDeleteSame here....seeing snow flakes were the highlight of the year for me.
DeleteGlad the comments cleared up the hat thing for me. We call it tuque.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! I've never heard them called toques. I'm learning it's a regional thing. So fun to see what people call them in different areas of the country or continent. :)
