Mercies and Grace

Let Your Light Shine
Thanksgiving 2015

This will be my last post about Thanksgiving. The big day is here....my favorite! I'm so thankful that mama and Mrs. Wanda were able to come spend Thanksgiving with Cliff and me this year. It has been a year of changes for us and it just feels so good to have something familiar around us for the holidays.

As I sit here and reflect back on this past year, I am amazed at how much I have to be thankful for.  I am thankful, always, for my family and friends and for good health. I am so thankful for my husband and children and thank God for allowing me to be a part of their lives. They are so very special to me! But today, I am even more mindful of what the Thanksgiving Holiday truly means to me.

I wrote something similar a few years ago and I feel that it deserves repeating.....

I am so very thankful for the multitudes of answered prayers, blessings and miracles that have been bestowed on me and my family and for His sweet mercy and grace. To God, I give all the glory, honor and praise.

The words of the following hymn rings so true in my heart....

Some thank the Lord for friends and home, For mercies sure and sweet;
But I would praise Him for His grace - In prayer I would repeat:
Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul,
Thank you, Lord, for making me whole;
Thank you, Lord, for giving to me
Thy great salvation so rich and free.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Laurie

  2. Hi Laurie-
    Your Thanksgiving sounds like it was a wonderful celebration.

    Sparkle Salad is sort of a retro cold/sweet concoction.

    You have inspired me to do a post.

    Thank you for that,

    Laura

  4. I have to say that the words to the song rang true for me too. Of all the many things that I have to be thankful for, the saving grace of Jesus is the ultimate gift. Seriously, sometimes in my day I stop and think about how sophisticated we think we are, we have Siri, and now Cortana on Windows and all sorts of information on the web. But in the end, we know so very little and control almost nothing. So I turn back to the Bible and find my hope there. I'm glad I stopped by here tonight.
