Do you remember their story? Read about it here. This wedding was special in more ways then one. Emily and Matt was married in the church that Cliff and I were married and the church where her paternal grandparents and great-grandparents were married.
We were so excited about the wedding because so many of our friends and family were involved.
Remember that Matt's daddy, Joel, was our pastor when Emily and Matt were young teenagers. Matt and Emily was honored to have him marry them. My sister, Carla, was the wedding director. Cliff's sister, Sharon, played the piano for the wedding ceremony. Friends of ours, Mary and Frank, and their Carolina Tradition Bluegrass Band played at the reception. Karen, a friend of mine since we were in second grade and her daughter, Kirby, decorated the church and reception with flowers. My cousin, Frankie, photographed the wedding. And Crystal, a friend of mine from my days when I was a Creative Memories consultant, catered the reception.
Emily chose to have a vintage wedding. There were hydrangeas, peonies, burlap and lace, mason jars and vintage plates. Seeing all those elements come together and having our friends and family there sharing their talents was priceless and we are forever grateful to them for making Emily and Matt's day so special.
And now, the love story.....Emily and Matt's wedding shared with you through photos:

The Reception
Matt and Emily love bluegrass music and the Avett Brothers.
Our friends, Mary and Frank sang the song "January Wedding", but changed the words to say "In April We're Gettin' Married".
The Carolina Tradition Bluegrass Band
Emily also wanted the song played that her granddaddy used to sing to her....
"You Are My Sunshine".
So, we surprised her by having it played for the Father/Daughter dance.
The Reception
This is a piece of a tree that we had cut down from our front yard.
Flowers and Sweet Tea
The Food
The food was amazing. This is only a portion of what was served. Crystal made a dip for the fruit and Sawyer loved it. Towards the end of the reception, he started serving it on crackers to the guests. HaHa!
The Cake and Cupcakes
The cake was strawberry and so moist and delicious.
The cupcakes were the same.
The Bouquet
After cake, it was off to......
Honeymoon
Emily makes homemade soap and gave them as the favors.
And then, it was time to leave.
But not before getting doused with lavender buds.
Happy Anniversary Emily and Matt!
Love,
Mama and Daddy
