On Sunday, the 7th, we went on a picnic on the Frisco side of the lake. We found a place to park and then hiked down to the lake. It was a beautiful, lazy sort of day.
It was cool enough for a jacket, when we left home. It didn't take long to warm up, though, and Sawyer took the opportunity to use a natural tree hanger for his jacket....Bear Grylls approved, no doubt. The next day, we discovered that Sawyer's jacket was missing. Emily thought back to the last time she had seen it and it was right here, hanging on the tree. So, Cliff and Sawyer went back to look for it. For sure, we thought, someone would have taken it. But no, Sawyer came walking out of the woods wearing it and grinning from ear to ear.

Quality is lacking, for sure.

This was our picnic view for the day. I hope I'm not starting to bore you with pictures of the surrounding mountain range. And, for sure the photos doesn't do them justice. But, I could sit and look at them all day.
Til soon,
Laurie
Looked like a relaxing fun day. Happy that Sawyers jacket was still there. ....I guess it didn't fit the bear :)
ReplyDeleteLol! I'll have to tell Sawyer that one. Thanks, Janey!
DeleteBeautiful! You make me wish I were vacationing in Colorado! The first photo is like a stunning postcard!
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you Marcie! Hop on a plane and come on over.
DeleteYou scenery could never be boring! I just love all the shots and no quality is lacking! When I saw the sweatshirt on the tree branch my first thought was "Oh someone left it hanging"..then when you said Sawyer hung it there my first thought was "Oh, I hope he doesn't forget it!" Glad he found it! Your trip is so fun and beautiful. I just love our country because no matter where you live, there is amazing beauty. Have a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThanks, YaYa! I agree! We have a beautiful country. I hope that I am fortunate enough to be able to see most of it before leaving this earth.
DeleteY0ur pics are great right up to the hoodie hanger:)And the Merrills..they have a rep of being so comfy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beautiful!!
Thank you so much, Monique. The Merrills are actually mine, but I've found that they hurt the toe that I broke a couple of years ago. I just realized it on our hikes out here. Normally, they are very comfy. I loaned them to Emily for our hike because she didn't bring hiking gear.
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! Aren't you so fortunate to have this wonderful vacation with your beautiful family!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I feel very fortunate!
DeleteWhat I love most about this post is the joy on the faces of your grands as they enjoy simple pleasures.
ReplyDeleteOh, me too, Carole! Thank you!
DeleteThe hornet nest is so neat looking and Sawyer looks like the "Karate Kid".

I was a little afraid to get too close to the nest, so I zoomed in. I thought it was interesting.
DeleteI loved that Sawyer was practing the Flying Crane Kick. He and Lidia will have black belts in Tae Kwon Do by the end of the year.
Gorgeous spot for a picnic! Beautiful photos Laurie :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sara!
