Cliff said.....

At the end of church service yesterday, the pastor asked the congregation to have a seat. He explained that a very lovely couple had celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last week and that they wanted to renew their wedding vows, today, in front of family and church friends. Oh fun! I was excited.

The pianist began playing Pachelbel’s Canon in D and then the lovely couple began walking hand in hand down the aisle. As they approached the pastor, he had them join him at the pulpit. He gave a brief history of their lives for the past 40 years and then proceeded to have them repeat their wedding vows. I couldn’t help but smile because you could see the love and happiness this couple was experiencing. And at the end..they kissed! So Sweet!

Sitting there, I already knew that Cliff would say something about it after church. So, I decided ahead of time what my response would be. I wanted to shock him, no wait…...I wanted to scare the bejeebies out of him. HaHa!

Sure enough, we were walking to the car and Cliff said, “I didn’t know I would be going to a wedding, today.” Without batting an eye, I said, “We are so doing that when we’ve been married 40 years”.  And just as soon as I got the words out of my mouth....Cliff said, “Pffft”.

Backfired!

It didn’t even phase him. I can never get one up on him. LOL!!

A Wedding Teaser

I know, I know! You want to see pictures, you want to hear details. Well, you're going to have to wait just a little longer. The pictures aren't quite ready, yet. Our photographer said he'll get them to us as soon as possible. And boy, I am excited. Emily's new sister-in-law took this picture and a few more at the rehearsal and reception. So I have an idea of what we are in for.

Emily and Matt were married Saturday. EVERYTHING was perfect, except just one issue. You're gonna have to wait for the full wedding report to find out what it was. For now, Emily and Matt are enjoying their honeymoon.

Lidia, bless her heart, got sick with Bronchitis. Matt's mom has been taking good care of her and Sawyer. Sunday and Monday, I wrapped up loose ends from the wedding and came to the lake, today, to help with Lidia and Sawyer.

I'll fill you in on the wedding soon, but for now, will leave you with this....remember it. Click the link and listen. There will be a quiz later.

Talk soon,
Laurie

Exciting Family News

Remember.....I posted back in December that I had some exciting family news to share. Well, it's time. My oldest daughter, Emily, the mother to Lidia and Sawyer, is getting re-married.

Emily and Matt will be married on April 11th.

We've been looking forward to this day, since Emily started talking to Matt over three years ago. There's a sweet story to be told.

Matt's father was our pastor in the late 90's. Emily and Matt were young teenagers and involved in our church youth group. So they spent a lot of time together as friends. Matt was the kind of boy every mother wants their daughter to marry. I was no exception and when Emily was about 15 years old, I told her so.  I said, "Emily, Matt is the boy I want you to marry." But, before she could wrap her head around that, Matt had to move. His daddy was called to a different church. The move pretty much ended my hopes that Emily and Matt would one day marry. She went her way and he went his. They both married someone else.

However, life and years later, Emily and Matt found themselves, once again, single. Were they looking for each other? No. But, if ever anything good came from social media, it is this. Emily and Matt found each other on Facebook, after all those years. They began talking. One thing led to another and Matt was back in our lives. They've been seeing each other ever since and now it's time. It's time to bring him into the family. Cliff and I couldn't be happier. Matt is a wonderful man! He loves Emily and the children with all his heart. And we know they will live happily ever after.

Knee deep in wedding plans,
Laurie
