Still Among The Living...

Y'all this bronchitis has thrown me for a loop. I've just, today, felt like I was still among the living, as mama would say. Naturally, nothing much has been going on around here. Just rest, medication and this endless coughing. And now, Cliff has the flu. Good Lord, I hope I don't get that, too. Thank you, by the way, for all the well wishes.

I was going through my photos and these few shots taken over the last couple of weeks made me smile. Thought I would share.

At the lake:

It amazes me that so many different birds are sharing the food.

He thinks he's hidden pretty well.

The best I've been able to do with a moon shot.

The wood pile is still pretty tall. It has only been cold enough to burn a fire a couple of times. Maybe cold enough for others, but it gets too hot for me. This woodpile was moved further away from the house last weekend and a good thing.....a copperhead was hiding underneath and had to be killed. Gives me the creeps!

Back roads, SC:

There's still cotton in the fields.

At the beach:

The ficus is loving it's new location.

Cliff hung my new bluebird house. But after reading about their habits, I don't think I'll be getting any bluebirds at the beach. That's ok, I'm sure something will move in.

Rain....no matter. This swan just went about searching for food. He/She would put it's head underwater looking for something....hence the dirty neck.

Hope you're all well!

Laurie

  6. Laurie, do not kiss your man till he is well. LOL. Bless your heart. Don't you love the brightness of the cardinal. Wow, love it. We have bluebird houses and have had them here before...but the wrens always try to take over the house before the bluebirds can get them. You moon photo is way better than any I have taken. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

  7. Sending wishes that you keep on the road to recovery . . . and that your hubby's bout of the flu is a short one.

"They say" we don't have any poisonous snakes in Minnesota which is good because I almost die when I see the harmless ones!

Your shared pictures are always beautiful.

Love the cardinal and we have a similar wood pile.
Bronchitis is so debilitating, but I suppose you'll know that already.

  16. I am so glad you are better, Laurie, and I certainly hope the flu doesn't get to you too. My daughter has been sick a lot lately, too. She had some sort of virus week before last and then, this past week, she came down with bronchitis. It makes me wonder if there is some sort of bug going around that leads to bronchitis. I have dodged the bullet, so far, but I hear there is a new strain of flu now that isn't covered by the vaccination. My youngest daughter, a school nurse, said the kids at school started coming to the office and being sent home with the flu this past week or so. Poor Cliff. I hope he will get over his case very quickly! Hang in there, sweet friend!
